Early Stages

This is the beginning of the "re-bar forest" that strengthens the posts.  Each of these structures contains a minimum of six vertical pieces of re-bar strapped together by rebar about every four inches.

Each of the posts is supported by a large concrete footing...

and the foundation joins each of the footings and posts together into a solid structure.

Sometimes there were problems.  This boulder was right where a footing had to go.  It would have taken at least a week to get a backhoe to take it out, so one of the workers spent several days taking it out with a hammer and chisel.
